Managing challenging behaviour in autism – a low arousal approach
Challenging behaviour in autism is often a result of people placing too high demands on autistic peoples’s abilities and skills. This lecture points out why challenging behaviour occurs and how staff and parent’s thinking affects how they manage it. Bo then presents a model for interventions: managing, evaluating and changing the situations where challenging behaviour occurs.
