Spectrum Map
Many people receive an autism spectrum diagnosis only in their teens or even later. When you don’t know much about your own traits, it can be harder to understand what kind of support you need—and just as hard to recognize and express your strengths.
Spectrum Map is designed especially for autistic youth and young adults aged 14–28.
On the site, you’ll find topics like:
- Interaction and communication
- Planning and organization
- Habits and interests
- Senses, body, and stress
Each topic includes ten statements. You simply choose whether each one “applies to me” or “does not apply to me.” If you select “applies to me,” a helpful text box opens – your virtual coach. Sometimes there’s a short video where Autism Finland´s autistic advocates share their personal experiences and practical tips.
When you finish a topic, your “yes” answers are collected into a summary with tips, strategies, and ideas you can pick from. You can also add your own tips if you want.
Your summary can be saved as a PDF and printed, making Spectrum Map not just a website but a handy tool for everyday life.
You can use Spectrum Map on your own or together with parents, teachers, or instructors.
